Petanque

Pétanque - you may know it as French boules - is played all year round, by all ages and by both men and women on equal basis. It’s a game that is easy to learn but difficult to master! Some players focus on the precision and subtlety of ‘pointing’ - throwing the boule into an exact position close to the jack - while others prefer ‘shooting’ - aggressively smashing their opponent’s boules out of the way. Played well, pétanque needs a combination of both skills and the tactical teamwork to know when to attack and when to defend.

Oxshott Pétanque Club has 2 international sized terrains which can accommodate up to 16 concurrent games. They are used throughout the year for major national and regional competitions as well as our own internal matches; we have some of the best pétanque terrains and facilities in the UK and have been voted in the top 10 in the whole country.
